Books are great. I love books. I love people who read books (and also people who don’t but I just especially love people who read books because I can connect with them a bit more). You are a person and you love books? Congrats, I love you. Let’s be friends. Come to my house and I’ll feed you chocolate while we sit around in our pajamas and talk about how much we love books. Be my Book Buddy.
The only thing I hate about reading is I get so attached to the characters. And after I finish the book, that’s it. I will never learn anymore about them or their life or what they ate for breakfast. No matter how many times I reread the book, I will always only know the same amount. And it saddens me. Finishing a book means losing people close to you.
“The hardest period in life is one’s twenties. It’s a shame because you’re your most gorgeous, and you’re physically in peak condition. But it’s actually when you’re most insecure and full of self-doubt. When you don’t know what’s going to happen, it’s frightening.”
— Helen Mirren, quoted in Esquire’s “What I’ve Learned” (via wordsthat-speak)
